Author presents multidimensional character of “Information Culture” term ; presents results of research conducted in selected Polish schools, which were focused on Information Literacy level among students ; highlights the most urgent tasks of policy markers in polish education system for better preparation of students for information usage in learning, future work and everyday life ; presents model of school library (School Information Center) that participates in creation of Information Culture of school and its students.
