Ascertain current activities in information literacy initiatives undertaken by Malaysian public universities for their undergraduate students so that a comparison can be made. Websites of libraries of 16 Malaysian public universities and university colleges were reviewed to determine the different types and forms of information literacy initiatives on offer.

Presents a proposal for the development of a generic tempalte-based prototype of a web-based information literacy course for undergraduates at the Faculty of Computer Science & Information Technology, University of Malaya, with the necessary contents. Once completed, the template can be used across the curriculum by all disciplines throughout the various public universities in Malaysia.
