Le Visualcatalog est un système interactif d'interrogation et d'exploration de la base de données bibliographique de la bibliothèque de l'Université d'Artois. At this workshop they will discuss and share experiences on information literacy learning and teaching, strategies, evaluation, implementation and current issues.
Course Outline The course given in English is offered three times every academic year. It consists of three full days of instruction as well as an individual information search which includes relevance estimation of the search results. We also offer the option to book a time to make an individual search with the assistance of an Information Specialist. Credits To get credits for the course you are required to participate in at least 80 per cent of the course. You also have to write a report showing an understanding of the process of information retrieval and subsequent handling of search results for the individual subject choosen. The course gives three (3) higher education credits in the doctoral programme.
Course content and activities are appropriate for school library media specialists and teachers of all curricular areas with special benefits for history, social studies, and talented and gifted classrooms.
Examine the role of the library Media Specialists as teacher, instructional partner, information specialist, and program administrator as each relates to information literacy. Review state and national academic standards and develop competencies in writing information literacy curriculum. Prepare information skills lessons for school students and design staff development programs in information skills across the curriculum for teachers and other school staff.
