The menu on all pages allows users to manouevre easily among the five parts of the site. Links are provided for this purpose; there are also many links within the site, connecting to more detailed information where this may be helpful. As well, other links are provided to other appropriate documents, and to other Internet sites containing related and useful information. A Help option is also available.
Vanderbilt's Central Library is a member of the Jean and Alexander Heard Library system. The Central Library is the largest in the Vanderbilt system, supporting study in the arts, humanities and social sciences: African-American studies, anthropology, classics, communications, comparative literature, East Asian studies, economics, English, fine arts, foreign languages and literatures, history, Latin American studies, linguistics, philosophy, political science, psychology, sociology, women's studies, and government publications.

Once you receive a light for each of the four categories, you are placed on the Home Stretch. On the Home Stretch, you must answer a question from each category correctly in order to advance a space. The guide is presented in three brief sections. The first section, "Getting Started," provides tips on filtering the millions of health-related Web pages through the health subsets of major search engines and using quality electronic finding tools developed by the U.S. government to do an initial screen of Websites for further examination. This section is followed by a set of guidelines developed for evaluating the content of health-related Websites. The final section provides additional information of interest to consumers searching for health-related information on the Web.

The course was based on a Cape Technikon prototype which was subsequently workshopped with librarians and academic support specialists at the University of Cape Town, Peninsula Technikon, the University of the Western Cape, Cape Technikon and the University of Stellenbosch.
