The conference is organized on the behalf of NordinfoLIT, the Nordic Forum for Collaboration on Information Literacy, by the Forum of User Education, which is an interest group of the Danish Association of Research Libraries. Co-organizers are the the Danish Network for Univeristy Pedagogy, a grassroot initiative of university teachers with intentions to develop the quality of university education and teaching. This is the fourth conference on Creating Knowledge, the former CK conferences have been in twice in Malmo, Sweden and in Akureyri, Iceland. LOEX-of-the-West is not officially associated with the LOEX Clearinghouse for Library Instruction at the Eastern Michigan University Library. However, the LOEX-of-the-West conferences have followed the LOEX conference model of a limited number of attendees, promoting an atmosphere for library professionals to learn and share experiences and ideas with others.
