ACRLog is a new blog for academic and research librarians. We hope you will turn to ACRLog for ideas, commentary, and reflection on the professional issues of the day. But there are thousands of blogs on a multitude of topics, including several ALA division blogs. So, why would ACRL venture into the blogosphere morass?
The conference is organized on the behalf of NordinfoLIT, the Nordic Forum for Collaboration on Information Literacy, by the Forum of User Education, which is an interest group of the Danish Association of Research Libraries. Co-organizers are the the Danish Network for Univeristy Pedagogy, a grassroot initiative of university teachers with intentions to develop the quality of university education and teaching. This is the fourth conference on Creating Knowledge, the former CK conferences have been in twice in Malmo, Sweden and in Akureyri, Iceland. The website offers current information and resources of the National Finnish IL project and links to the international organisations which promote information literacy.
The project will review research literature in areas concerning the impact of information literacy and libraries on the student learning experience in UK higher education. The outcomes should be relevant to policymakers, faculty and librarians. Outcomes will be a report and a database of abnnotated references.
LOEX-of-the-West is not officially associated with the LOEX Clearinghouse for Library Instruction at the Eastern Michigan University Library. However, the LOEX-of-the-West conferences have followed the LOEX conference model of a limited number of attendees, promoting an atmosphere for library professionals to learn and share experiences and ideas with others.
